Kapitel 1
Elena’s breath hitched as the cold steel cuffs bit into her wrists. The fluorescent glare of the interrogation room flickered overhead, sputtering like a dying ember. Her pulse pounded—not with fear, but with relentless fury.
“Is this really how you want this to end, Elena?” The voice was smooth, poisonous. Damian’s silhouette stood just beyond the glass, a phantom casting long shadows across the polished marble.
She forced herself to meet his eyes. The arrogance there, the smug satisfaction—it carved deeper wounds than the heavy accusation suffocating her. Framed. Shattered.
“We both know this was your game,” she whispered, voice hoarse but steady.
Damian smiled, a slow, predatory curl. “I’m merely preserving the legacy. You were a liability—a loose thread that needed cutting.”
The sterile room seemed suddenly smaller, the air thick with cold intent. Elena’s fingers trembled beneath the cuffs—not from defeat, but calculating the impossible: how to survive this night and fracture the empire he built on lies.
“Why? After everything… You were my brother.” Her voice cracked, disbelief mingling with rage.
“Family is a luxury in business, Elena. I chose power over blood.” His eyes gleamed with a ruthless resolve that crushed whatever hope she clung to.
A harsh clang jolted her back as the door slammed open. Sergeant Marlowe, Elena’s one beacon amid ruin, stepped in—his expression tight, torn.
“Elena, they’ve seized your personal files. We’re running out of options.”
Her heart lurched, but before she could respond, Marlowe’s gaze shifted to the doorway. A shadow peeled away—silent, swift. The faint glimmer of a flash drive caught the dim light, disappearing as if swallowed by darkness.
“Elena...” Marlowe’s voice faltered. “The evidence… It’s gone.”
She leaned forward, eyes sharp. “Vanished? Or taken?”
Marlowe swallowed hard, every muscle tense. “I don’t know. But whoever grabbed it knew exactly where to hit.”
Betrayal whispered like an icy wind through her veins. Was this sabotage? Or a deeper treachery cloaked in trust?
Outside, unseen cameras blinked; the city’s spine of power stretched infinitely beyond these four walls. Somewhere in the labyrinth of glass and steel, the real game was just beginning.
Elena’s lips curled into a grim, dangerous smile. No throne stays unchallenged forever.
“Let’s burn it all down.”
